Conducting interviews

As part of our research we decided to conduct interviews to get a more detailed and in-depth analysis of what our audiences preferences were in the openings of teen romantic-comedies. We showed them two clips from two openings: 'Angus,Thongs and Perfect Snogging' and 'Wild Child'. We also asked the audiences general views about the teen romantic-comedy genre.We asked them the following questions:

·    What stock settings did you identify?

·     What stock characters were there?

·     How were these characters introduced?

·     How was enigma created?

·    How was the plot set up?

·    How did the mood and tone of the music conform/subvert the rom-com genre?

·    Was the opening typical of the teen rom-com genre?

·    How would you improve the opening of the film?
